Sore Rash on Vagina
Since vaginal rashes are caused by irritation of many sources, TeenHealthFX cannot say for certain what you are experiencing at the moment. Some possibilities and related symptoms include:
- Thick, white clumpy vaginal discharge
- Creamy, whitish coating in/around vagina
- Itching, burning, redness in/around vagina
- Stinging during urination
- Pain or burning when you pee
- Bad-smelling or cloudy urine
- Blood or pus in your urine
- Soreness, pressure, or cramps in your lower belly, back, or sides
3. Sexually Transmitted Infection (STI)
- Symptoms vary depending on the type of STI
You mentioned that you are sexually active. TeenHealthFX encourages all sexually active teenagers to:
1. Always use condoms during sexual intercourse. Condoms are the only form of birth control that protect against STI’s.
3. Check out our Resource of the Month: Planned Parenthood Resources on Safer Sex to learn about sexual readiness, how pregnancy happens, birth control, STDs, pregnancy tests, emergency contraception and more.
TeenHealthFX urges you to schedule an appointment with your physician. He/she can examine your vagina in person, and provide necessary treatment. If you don't have a doctor and live in northern New Jersey, you can call the Adolescent/Young Adult Center for Health at 973-971-5199 for an appointment with an adolescent medicine specialist or contact your local teen health center or Planned Parenthood. A Planned Parenthood health center is a good option if you have concerns about cost or confidentiality issues. You can also contact your insurance company for a list of in-network providers.
